Our Mission

Myrtletown is our home and our community. We intend to grow the community through this website by offering a place for community members to carry out discussions, post free classified listings, access the internet via our wifi hotspot, and represent community pride with custom apparel.

As our web site grows we have big plans to expand the operation. With enough neighborhood support we hope to install additional signal-boosting antennae throughout Myrtletown to distribute free internet access to an even greater number of users in the community. We also have plans to install a weather station to provide more accurate weather information than can be obtained from existing sources in the Humboldt Bay area (currently most weather reports come from the official weather station at the Arcata Airport, 20 miles from Myrtletown). Free Myrtletown.net email accounts and web hosting are also part of our extended community access plan.

Please keep in mind that Myrtletown.net is a volunteer effort that is supported entirely by the community, and is maintained by technicians at Sprux LLC as a side project. If you would like to help us reach these goals you may contact us here.
